David joined Cleveland Financial Group in 2014 having been in financial services since 2006. Prior to that, he spent 22-years working in higher education. Upon graduating from Central Michigan University in 1984 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, David remained in Mount Pleasant, MI for an additional four years working in the Office of Housing and Food Service. David’s Cleveland career began at Case Western Reserve University where he took a job in familiar territory with the Office of Housing and Residence Life. David served in a variety of roles in this department from 1989 through 1998 including Manager of Business Operations and Assistant Director of Housing. In 1998, David moved into The Case School of Engineering where he served as the Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance from 2001-2006.

David and his business partner, Adam DeBord, have worked with one another since 2006, and joined their financial planning practices together in 2012. Their collaborative approach to financial planning, investment and protection planning brings greater capacity, capability and continuity to the work that they do with clients.

David resides in Broadview Heights, OH with his wife Sharon, and has two step-children, Gina and Anthony. He is ordained as both an Elder and Deacon of Rocky River Presbyterian Church, where he also serves as an advisor to the Middle School Fellowship group, Liturgist and Ushering Captain. In his free time, David enjoys hiking, cooking, and biking. David is pleased to be affiliated with the Cleveland Financial Group team because it enables him to help individuals plan and advance their financial future.
